Consultation - this is how every session begins. We will discuss your consultation form and any particular areas that you would like to be worked on. If it is your first time for a massage with me, then I will also run you through exactly what will happen during the massage and we will talk about the type of pressure that you like. I will then exit the room for you to get changed and onto the massage couch. (Regular client - approx. 5/10mins, First time - approx. 15mins)
Massage - I will perform whichever massage you have chosen.
End chat - Once the massage is complete I will once again leave the room for you to get changed. I will then re-enter the room and check in on how you are feeling before you leave. (approx. 5mins)
You must call/email/message at least 24 hours prior to your scheduled appointment time if you need to cancel/reschedule an appointment. The change or cancellation is only valid once I have confirmed with you.
Be aware:
· If you cancel with less than 24-hours notice, you will be charged the full rate for your missed appointment.
· If you cancel between 24-48 hours of the appointment time you will be charged 50% for your missed appointment.
These forms give me your medical history and allow me to assess if there are any possible contraindications to being massaged by me. If there is anything I am concerned about then I would ask for GP sign off before being able to proceed. The minimum 48hrs enables you to be able to obtain that sign off.
How much you undress is totally up to you and what makes you feel comfortable. I generally would recommend you undress to underpants, removing bra, but can work with whatever makes you happy.
The only exception to the above, is with chair massage where you remain fully clothed.
I only ever expose the areas that I am working on, everything else remains covered by the towels.
I use a pure grapeseed oil, extracted from the pressed seeds of grapes. It is rich in antioxidants and can promote skin health. Its light texture provides a soothing experience during massage. It doesn't clog pores, making it suitable for all skin types, including sensitive and oily skin. It is considered safe and well tolerated by most people,. it is not a common allergen.
I do not use any oil when giving the scalp massage as part of the main massage, I will clean my hands beforehand.
No oil is used for a chair massage.
I use Spotify so am happy to play whichever music you choose. For those without a specific preference I have a range of spa music playlists.
I totally understand that coming to something like a pregnancy massage can feel daunting. The safety of you and your baby is of the upmost importance to me during your session. To reassure you I am fully qualified and insured in pregnancy massage.
We will have a consultation at the beginning of the session where I will talk through exactly what will take place in the massage and answer any questions you might have.
No matter what stage of pregnancy, how many times you've seen me before, or whether you have recently seen a midwife, I always start with 3 simple checks to make sure that it is safe to massage you on that specific day. They are nothing to be scared of and just involves me looking, moving and touching your legs. If there was anything that I found concerning I would say that it would be best not to massage today, and advise you to consult your midwife or GP. This is not a common outcome so please do not panic - it is purely a safety measure.
In a pregnancy massage you will only be lying on your sides, never your back or stomach. I also provide lots of pillows to make sure that you are comfortable as can be.
The pressure is light, not a deep tissue massage, but you will also leave feeling like you have had a massage (I promise!).
C Section - wait for sign off from your Dr at the 6 week check up.
Vaginal - as soon as you personally feel ready. I will tailor the massage to you.
Of course you can! If lying on your stomach is too uncomfortable then I can massage you in a side lying position.
100% not!!!
Perimenopause is not always diagnosed by the blood test, but that does not mean you are not actually suffering and experiencing symptoms. I will happily massage you.
Yes, no problem at all from my point of view.
